Although our monthly meetings are free for everyone, we’re a volunteer organisation relying on donations to cover our overheads. These include renting the terrace of the Hub, paying the wages of the cafe staff during meetings’ hours, permits and web hosting among other things. Everything we successfully scrounge is poured into the society, with leftover funds paying for the occasional advertising project to further advance astronomy in London. As organisers, we never take money from the BSIA, and offer our free time to manage and promote events. That’s just fine by us, but we won’t turn down a voluntary financial contribution to the society.
By donating, you can help to secure our tenure in the Park, so our events can continue bringing Londoners together to share the Universe from an outstanding location. We’d like to stress that this is entirely voluntary, and you’re under no obligation to pay anything to be a fully fledged Irregular Astronomer!
You can donate via the PayPal buttons on this page, or by cash (handled to one of the Unofficial Force at a meeting) or by cheque made payable to “The Baker Street Irregular Astronomers”.
Please post your cheque to
